How PROPEL-TT came to be

2017

In 2017, Managing Director Candice Thomas-Coa founded PROPEL-TT Group Limited in Trinidad & Tobago with a clear conviction: that Caribbean businesses — from growing SMEs to the region's largest institutions — deserved HR leadership that matched the calibre of their ambitions. After more than a decade working inside some of the region's most demanding organisations, across energy, financial services, manufacturing and the public sector, she had seen the same gap consistently: the absence of rigorous, internationally-benchmarked, genuinely strategic HR practice at the local level.

PROPEL-TT was the answer to that gap. Not a staffing agency. Not a consultancy producing generic policy documents. A strategic HR partner — credentialled at the international standard, rooted in the Caribbean reality, and committed to the outcome for both the organisations it serves and the professionals it places.

Since then, the firm has grown in scope and reach — serving clients across T&T, the wider CARICOM region, and internationally — while operating across the Caribbean, Latin America, North America, Europe, and the Middle East. The founding commitment has never changed: practicality, discretion, and disciplined execution.

A senior human capital and organisational strategy professional with over 15 years of experience across the Caribbean and international markets. Candice has advised executive leadership on governance, workforce strategy, and organisational transformation across both public and private sector environments — from growing SMEs to intergovernmental institutions.

Her dual international certification — SPHRi (Senior Professional in Human Resources — International) and SHRM-SCP (Society for Human Resource Management Senior Certified Professional) — places her among a small cohort of practitioners in the Caribbean qualified at both standards simultaneously. She also holds a Master of Science in Human Resource Management from the University of the West Indies.

She leads all PROPEL-TT engagements with a focus on excellence, execution, and integrity — ensuring every solution is not just designed, but delivered. Her track record includes successful Industrial Court representations, board-level HR advisory, and talent placements across the Americas, Caribbean, and Europe.
